"If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead and rotten, either write something worth reading or do things worth the writing." Benjamin Franklin
During my trip to Philadelphia in October I heard this quote and it really struck me and STUCK with me. I realized I squander time doing things that aren't always very productive or meaningful. I tend to lose focus of things I should be doing by doing things that really don't amount to much and at the end of the day I feel frustrated and disappointed because I haven't bettered myself or anyone else along the way.
Some of you may have noticed I've been a bit scarce in the Land of Blog. I have been trying to cut back so that I can focus my time and energy on other things right now. A few weeks ago I saw Lindy looking for me and the first place she went to look for me was in the office (we don't have a laptop) and that was pretty telling.
I'm not sure what I write is worth the reading and I doubt that anything I do will ever be worth the writing as good old Ben states, but I do want to create a home where Lindy has memories of us doing things together and where she sees me being a servant to others and not a slave to technology.
I do miss checking in on my friends and family as frequently as I have in the past and want you to know I love you and think of you often but during this very busy season I need to work on balancing things better in my life.
Many blessings~

Well said, Lisa! I know I struggle with the same thing....I hope that you don't drop the blog altogether, but I understand the need to focus on these beautiful little whirlwinds before we miss our chance!!

I know you wrote this a few weeks ago but I too have been stepping back from the Land of Blog...
I will continue to post for as long as I feel compelled as a way to document/scrapbook the little things for my family but I am done spending hours catching up with all the happenings of everyone else. It is not in the best interest of my family (husband and kids) or my day to day friends. I have LOVED the friendships we have made here and I will check in from time to time but I hear you loud and clear and could not agree with you more:)
I wish you all of season of joy, peace and love, Lisa.
Kim
