Black and White Wednesday

the long road

It has been a few weeks since I've been able to participate in Black and White Wednesday and I've missed posting and checking in on my fellow B&W buds. However, it has been kind of a crazy time and I've been feeling pretty overwhelmed and behind in many areas of my life. As a result, I have major blogger backlog and will try to catch up on some posts soon.

Spring has come with a vengeance here and I've been sniffing, coughing, and hacking to prove it. I suppose it doesn't help that we've had the windows open (which I typically love) AND Don has been doing some dust-generating projects around the house.

While Lindy and I were in Kansas visiting my parents, I came home to an absolute MESS in my house because Don had been working so hard. I don't know, perhaps this is why I've been sneezing and sniffing:

I know this is such a weird thing to photograph and subsequently post and the quality isn't really very good to boot (I was experimenting with macro and no flash but still got glare). At this point, you may be wondering if that Lisa Osborn has ANY pride or dignity, whatsoever. Believe me, I am too. However, it was one of those things that happened really quickly and my first reaction was, "Lindy DON'T run your fingers through the dust, you'll scratch the furniture." But as I looked at it, besides the fact that I know I have more dusting to do than time, it made me smile thinking about this little girl who places a heart on top of her "L" and loves to make things fancy and pretty.

Go over to Lisa's blog if you'd like to see some much better B&W work! I have to get back to d, du, dusting!

The dust will always be there, but our children will be grown before we know it. I like this photo, as it is a tender reminder of that very thing...how truly precious these years really are. The dust can wait!! ;)

We are all soooooooooo wheezing around here (but it is Fall in Australia) I hope you feel better - but I'd have those windows open too!

I feel very much at home with these shots. (In the middle of a re-no so 1 inch thick dust is my middle name these days.)

Love it! We've had the windows open for the last few days and my house is covered in pollen. I dusted this morning and it wasn't nearly as pretty or artistic as this!

We have the same dust issue around our house. Although we just live on a gravel road. The open windows are worth te extra dusting. I bet seeing that sweet name made all your sniffling worth it :) LOVE the heart at the top. My 6 yr old can't write her name without decorating it either :)

Hope your Dad is doing better!!

My house has so much dust too. This year we are all covered in yellow around here. I would have taken a picture of this too when Sephy was little and wrote her name.

Too funny! Glad you grabbed the camera for these two. Right now, she could probably do that on my car. :)

How is your dad doing?

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend ahead. Thank you for yesterday.....You are one special lady and a wonderful friend to many......just wanted you to know that!!
