Happy New Year!
A while back I said I was coming back to the blog world. I really meant it at the time but I've found it somewhat difficult to get back into the swing of blogging again. I have been posting some on Millie's blog but not routinely. I plan to get better at the blog thing. Really, I do.
For at least three or four years I've wanted to participate in a picture-a-day type of project. For one reason or another I talked myself out of it, though. That negative self talk can really do a number on me and I fall victim to it ALL the time. I know I'm not that great of a photographer. I am not particularly creative. I fail in areas of being disciplined. Blah. Blah. Blah.
I decided to set aside my thoughts of self-doubt and go for it. There was absolutely NOTHING to lose. Who knows? Maybe I'll improve my skills. Maybe I'll find that creative bone in my body I've been searching for. Maybe I'll employ some self-discipline, have some fun in the process, and realize it is not meant to be a burden, a contest, or area of stress. Crazy, I know.
I've been posting my pictures on Facebook but then I thought I should post them on my blog for better record keeping.
I present the first installment, days 1-9.

I've missed your blogs! I get excited when I see you've posted a new one. :D
I did the Project 365 a couple years ago. Here are the two best pieces of advice I got: 1) Sometimes it is ok to fudge. If you forget to take a picture one day, it is ok to fill in with something that is not date specific. 2) If you can't think of anything else to photograph, take pictures of how you have your house decorated or your yard or something else to record for posterity's sake. (These make good fillers on those days you forgot to take a picture.)
I would also add, broaden your ideas of what is picture worthy. I would take pictures of chiropractor business cards, books I was reading, favorite drinks, DVDs we watched etc. It doesn't always have to have the "WOW" factor. :D
I know I would beat myself up too when I messed up, forgot or didn't have a good picture, but keep going. It is REALLY fun to look back on!
I hope that helps in some way. I look forward to following your project and to future blog posts!
