Thankful Thursday

I'll admit, I've been feeling a bit blah and uninspired. I think I have been dwelling more on what I don't have (or all that I want), rather than what I have. I have also been bemoaning who I wish I could be, rather than who I am. It bothers me when I allow myself to get like this and am not actively demonstrating my thankfulness to God or those around me.

Today I needed to spend some time reading some of the words of thanks in the Bible uttered by other men and women. The psalms always have some great words of thanksgiving and praise. Here is one that really spoke to me and I hope it will speak to you, as well.

Psalm 100
A psalm. For giving thanks.

Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

What are you thankful for today?

I hear ya, girl. Really. Some days I just get all hooked on my own pity party when I know full well all the coutless blessings that have come and will come my way. Darn our sour attitudes! ; ) Thank God He is so faithful to keep on wooing us to His heart so He can remind us how precious we truly are. Blessings to you and thanks for the great Scripture. I love that one! ; )

I can totally relate to how you are feeling. God sometimes has to get us like this, down on our knees, so that we will look up to Him. I think this long wait is so hard on all of us. I will be lifting you up in prayer, my sister.
I love that scripture. Today I am thankful for the rain, my sweet family, the smell of the roast I have cooking, and my friend Lisa. :)

I too have realy needed EXTRA meditating in His promises and am going in just a mnute whem I lay my youngest treasure down, to spend more time with Him to receive some strength and inspiration. Thank God He renews our strength... when we draw near to Him he draws near to us. Thank you for giving me a scripture to go study:)

I know how you feel, I went to RQ this week too and it didn't make me feel good. I am trying my hardest to concentrate on what I have instead of what I don't. Thank you for sharing the wonderful scripture and being so honest. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Lisa, I am so glad you stopped by our blog. I love meeting other famlies that have been blessed by one of God's creations!!! Your daughter Lindy is absolutely adorable and congrats on the little "Mei Mei"!!! I wish God would open our doors again but it is not in his timing "yet". I have to live through all of you that are in the process, so I will look forward to following your amazing journey. I will also keep praying that the timeline will speed up.

Take care,
Terri

Hi, Lisa! I'd love to hear about your friends who have adopted and husbands traveled...I'm not sure what we will do yet, but it helps to hear other's stories and how it all worked out.

Thanks so much!

Kim

Lisa,

It is so easy to focus on what you don't have, what you wish you could do, etc...I am glad that you are able to remain thankful and focus on all the wonderful blessings in your life.

When things are hardest it is easiest to forget your blessings. I have to fight to remember at times, especially now. I can tell you that we are all more blessed because we have your in our lives. You're an amazing person, Lisa.

Love,

Danielle

I am thankful that you express when you are struggling with what we all struggle with and know that turning your focus to The Word will turn around your thought process. Thanks for setting a good example for us.
