Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for the very special call I received two years ago --January 25, 2006-- and for having a God who knows what is best for me. As I listen to Lindy chatter about all day long following me from room to room, it is hard for me to believe at this point two years ago, I hadn't even seen her precious face. She was a dream. She was a prayer. Although she was real, she didn't yet feel real to me. That all changed at 11:06 when I got a call telling me we had a daughter and within 90 minutes of the call seeing this sweet face...

For some very strange reason, I got to thinking about a line from the Garth Brooks song, "Unanswered Prayers." The line that came to me was, "...Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers." In a big way I don't agree with that line because I believe God answers ALL prayers but maybe not how we want them answered. So, as I think about our journey to Lindy I acknowledge how some of God's greatest gifts are through prayers answered HIS way and not ours. If that wasn't the case, I wouldn't have this face to see later this morning...

What are you thankful for today?

She is SO precious. I'm thankful for the food I eat, the air I breathe, the beautiful things I can see and my family and friends to share it with.

ohhh what a special day... what a beautiful baby she was! I have a smile on my face now as I remember my phone call and how I then anxiously sat in front of the computer waiting for photos!
Have a wonderful weekend, and I agree, Our dear Heavelny Father does always hear and answer us. Psalm 91 says we will call and He will answer, I am so thankful for His many answers...

It has almost been a year since our referral day - whew, gets me glassy-eyed everytime. Lindy could not be more precious...I think we'd all explode if she exuded any more cuteness. She is a blessing, a miracle and certainly an answered prayer. I am thankful for your sweet girl this day and her incredibly special mommy who has managed to restore my faith in friendship.

I wish you happy this day:)

Love,
Heather

Thank goodness God not only answers prayers, but answers them for our BEST, not always for our WANTS :)

I feel terrible that I am just reading this now! I can't believe it has been two years... You are so right about how God answers our prayers. I feel that way every time I hear Selah's version of "The Broken Road" too! I know what a blessing Lindy is to you. But, I also know if she was typing her Thankful Thursday entry last week, she would be giving thanks to God for her very special Mommy!
Love,
Di

My favorite smoothie recipe is (I just estimate the amounts) about a 1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt, frozen strawberries and frozen blueberries with about a 1/2 cup water. We also use a 1/2 scoop of whey protein powder to make it extra nutritional. I LOVE THIS and it makes a gorgeous purple smoothie! ; ) Let me know if you like it!

I too am thankful for "our moment" as well, it was very similar to the day I gave birth to Dayton.

Loved hearing your story, it really takes me back to those days. We were a May LID as well, and I remember feeling very excited for all of the families getting there referrals, and also very excited knowing we were next!

I feel so bad at how behind I am in checking in...there are not enough hours in the day! I love this post. Brought tears to my eyes as tomorrow is our referral anniversary. Lindy was so beautiful in those photos and she is even moer beautiful now. Amazing what love and a froever family will do. God does answer all of our prayers (just not always how we think He will).
Happy referral day anniversary!!!!
love,
Kim
