I think the blog world is a very interesting social phenomenon. To some it is absolutely ridiculous and many are quite skeptical of it. That is completely understandable and valid, for sure.
In the over two years that I've been blogging I have been very fortunate to "meet" some absolutely lovely people via blogs. While many of us share a kindred interest in adoption, we also share a love of faith, family, friendship, and fun...It is easy to feel close through the gift of technology but having the opportunity to meet face-to-face to further the relationship and take it to a deeper level isn't always a possibility.
I knew Kim and I would get to eventually meet but didn't think it would be under these conditions. I am very thankful God kept them safe and that they opted to leave Houston (after some strong prompting) and travel here. There are a lot of unknowns for them right now and I know they covet your prayers. Please pray for all the families who have been affected by the hurricanes and severe weather.
I am so thankful we had the chance to meet, visit some, and get to know each other better. I am optimistic there will be future visits and am praying they will be hurricane free--aside from those little hurricanes known as Lindy and Kate (who is oh so sweet). So for you naysayers, we are no longer virtual friends but for real...

OH Lisa that is wonderful. SO glad you got to meet a blog buddy. I know it was an extra special time. Its funny... usually in the norm, we meet people... then get to know them but when we meet a blog friend we already know them well;)
Beautiful pictures ( I love Lindy's dress), beautiful friends, what an amazing testimony for blogging and for the real friendships that develop as a result. I am so happy you met and spent time together. You are both quality ladies and could only have the best to share with one another.
Our prayers are with everyone who has been affected by Ike. I, for one, do not deal well with uncertainty, so my hat is off to Kim as they weather (no pun intended) these challenges.
Love you!
Heather

How nice you got to meet Kim...and I am sure it was a comfort to her to have a fmiliar face to spend time with. Jim calls my blog friends my "imaginary" friends....but as you know that could not be further from the truth.

What a fantastic opportunity for you guys! Isn't it great to see how God makes all things possible including allowing us to meet our "virtual" friends. You can see his hand in both of your lives by looking at the big smiles on the faces of those 2 beautiful girls.
oohhhh how sweet...so that's where Kim went. I'm happy she is with you! I will keep Kim and her beautiful family in my thoughts and prayers. Lindy is getting so big..these little Panda's are growing up way too fast. {{[hug}}}

Looks like y'all had a fun time together! How neat you got to get together. Of course, under different circumstances would have been better. I'm praying for Kim and her family.

Just look at you 4 beautiful ladies! I am so glad that you were able to help Kim. And I have learned that blogfriends are true friends. You guys know more about what's going on in my life than anyone.
Hi Lisa,
I had to come over and thank you for the very sweet comment you left for me this morning!
It sounds like we have a lot in common...I look forward to getting to know you better.
You have a beautiful family...and what you did for Kim and her family was so amazing...
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

How wonderful that you could be there for Kim and her family. Evacuating Houston had to be very difficult for them, but they found welcome arms and a gracious host in you. The pictures are lovely. The girls look adorable and you and Kim are beautiful - both inside and out.
OK, I just had to come back and tell you what a sweetheart you are. Your comments always put a big smile on my face.
Hugs,
Michelle

Hi Lisa, glad you stopped by today to say hi!
I'm not skeptical at all of bloggy friends...I love them!!
My daughters blog is Life is Beautiful on Sara's sidebar. We are waiting for Mei-Mei too! Any day now!
You are right, they are plates in the boxes, I got them from Norwalk Furniture when we redecorated 2 houses ago. They are timeless I think!
Your blogs are lovely and Lindy is an angel!
Blessings, Maree
