"What is desirable in a person is kindness..."
Proverbs 19:22
Proverbs 19:22
I just realized yesterday--after seeing it on a school billboard--that this is Random Acts of Kindness Week. For the past two years, I have had a giveaway during the week. Obviously, I'm a bit late.
This year, I (or my lovely assistant, Lindy) will RANDOMLY choose THREE winners to receive a gift. Last year I asked people to talk about what they do to be kind and the previous year I asked people to describe acts of kindness they've received. As I recall, people were much more comfortable writing about kindness they'd received.
To mix it up this year, you can share one random fact about yourself. Yep. That's all. I'm not going to make you follow my blog or Tweet about this or blog about it or become my Facebook friend. Just leave me one teensy, eensy, random fact and you're entered.
I'll close the entries on February 28th and then draw three winners.
Have fun and be kind--all the time!
xoxo~

The first prize I ever won in a random drawing was a gargantuan pink stuffed bunny. Naturally, I won this in Arizona when my family would be driving back to our home in Louisiana. But since it was my first-ever win, I insisted on buckling up Bunny in the middle of our backseat between my brother and me. It was a loooooong ride home, let me tell ya!
You are so sweet and thoughtful. You don't need to enter me. I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your kindness.
I will tell you {and I've been thinking about this and just think it's pretty awesome} that when I first saw the city of Chicago, I said "Wow. I could never live here." Look at me now :)
Hope you had a wonderful week and that you have a fantastic weekend. Next time that I come visit Jill in SA I hope we can plan something with Lindy {and hopefully candy corn. or Sugar Heart}. I'm keeping you all in my prayers, and hope things speed up!!!
xoxo
You are so sweet to do a giveaway:)
Nick's school follows "Random Acts of Kindness" all year long.....and I think it is fantastic~
The teachers select a student who they caught doing a random act of kindness. They get their picture taken and it is posted in the main hallway of the school and the child also receives a certificate to bring home. I am so proud to say that Nick has made it to the wall 3 times this year:) That certainly makes a Momma proud!!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
xoxo,
Lisa
i'm sure you already know a lot of facts about me, but i'll try.
i can't go to sleep at night if there are still dishes in the sink.
that kind of falls more under the title "OCD Much?!" but it's all i can think of at the moment.
another random fact: now i will probably spend the rest of the day trying to think up a better fact. haha!
First of all can you please ask Jill to come spend the night at my house- there are always dishes in the Babcock sink! And random fact about me... before I start eating any order of french fries I have to find the two squishest ones and set them aside. Once I have finished my meal, I dip the two set aside into ketchup and put one on the left side of my mouth and one on the right. That way I finish my meal with my favorite taste and texture and both sides of my mouth are happy. It is only fair that way... I know crazy much?!
Just found your site today. Thanks for the sweet giveaway. I love the verse from Proverbs you chose to put in your header! Since I am new there are alot of things I could put... but I will share something that you may not know from my blog, or twitter, or even FB. 3 yrs ago on Dec 2 2006 I went in for my 3rd neuro consult and it was conifrmed that I had 3 inoperable spinal tumors.. and that I would most likely have less than a month to live. The drs wanted to keep me in the hospital and experiment.. I felt a strong urge from the Lord that I was to trust Him to guide me in the health journey I was about to embark on and not to let them experiment. I am not sorry... its now 3 yrs. It hasn't been easy, and it wont be, ..but He has given me a promise to be with me each step of the way. It's also not easy as I am single,... my grown kids living far away ...so tho we are in touch by phone, I have no one taking care of me, which gets pretty hard... But I thank God for each and every day HE has given me ...I LOVE the gift of life... each day is His gift to us!

I wanted to tell you HOW much I appreciated you stopping by our blog and leaving such a heartfelt post. You were such an encouragement. Thank you!!!!!!
I look forward to following your journey to mei mei. I pray for patience and perseverance as you wait for your blessing.
Tisha :)
I have ALWAYS wanted to be a mommy...I remember being 4 years old, and sitting in the back seat of my parents Aerostar mini van after my day at the Christian Academy. I rememeber while sitting there, and closing my eyes and praying that i could be like Samantha from Bewitched.. That way I could just blink me a baby =)
I love your giveaways and I don't need to win (so do not need to be entered), just happy to see some entries here, I miss it when I don't see your beautiful from-the-heart writing. Most of all, I love your giving heart!
Hmmm, random fact...I was a roller skating waitress at the Sci Fi Dine In in Disney World for a summer. :)
Love you!
Heather
Lisa~ You are SO sweet. I love this giveaway idea & random acts of kindness. You're definitely a person who lives a life of sweet, random acts of kindness... like paying for my dinner at Chuy's and surprising me with a fun, girly gift.
Hmm.... a fact about me that you may not know???? I have a MAJOR addiction to medicated chapstick. I have to have it at all times. There is a medicated chapstick by my bed, in the car, in the kitchen, in the living room, in my desk, in my computer bag, etc... You get the idea. :)
I teach kindergarten and have recognized Random Acts of Kindness for years. I found some little cards at the Dollar Tree that have punch dots for R acts of K. I send them home when allunches are complete. Parents love this as do the students. It really blesses me to foster these acts of love!
Oh what a beautiful idea for giving a giveaway! I truly believe that the act of kindness is the key to making our world turn...If only everyone tried to be kind at least once a day, life as we know it would be sweet!
(also just wanted to let you know that I received my birthday present and it is truly beautiful ~ if you are ever thinking about getting one of these hand stamped necklaces...oh you got to get one of Lisa's)
Hope you are having a great week!
i think i have posted several of these, but here are some random facts about me:
i loooove to give shots, but hate to get them. i can dish it out but i cant take it.
i have to sleep with some kind of white noise (a fan, a heater...) or i'll go stir crazy.
one of my favorite memories of this year was riding in the back of ya'll's car and counting corn stalks and sunflowers with lindy :)
when i was younger, i had trichotillomania (look it up!) with my eyelashes... which is why i always play with them now, especially when i'm tired. it's a habit i don't even realize i'm doing anymore.
that's about all the fun stuff i can think of that you didnt already know! hope you are having a wonderful week! :)
All right, I really don't want to win anything, but I will share a small & random fact about me :) Just because it's fun!
When I was young I worked on my neighbor's pig farm - delivering baby pigs!! They were SO darling! I wish that my kids could get the same experience, though it's not likely! But we DO have the Iowa State Fair and this summer we got to see baby pigs being born (just not get dirty :))
I missed the deadline, but I couldn't think of something very random about myself besides the fact that my fingers and elbows are double jointed and do weird things...although they are less "limber" as I get older. I had to ask Ben and he said that I should share that I hate the smell of syrup and gag if I have to rinse it off a plate. I don't buy him maple oatmeal because I cannot handle the smell in my house.
