This picture makes me smile and brings tears to my eyes as it represents such pure joy, serenity, and love. I snapped it on one of our last days in China and I seriously could stare at it all day and would wallpaper the house with it, if I could. :-)
In her referral, Lindy was described as a "moderate sleeper." Beware for those waiting for referrals--that is code for fairly light sleeper. Lindy is an active and alert child and doesn't like to miss much. This is one of the handful of times she's actually fallen asleep in our arms. Don, on the other hand, has no problem falling asleep. I've often wondered if he has narcolepsy.
To see them both asleep on a noisy city bus was pure bliss. It was one of those moments when I knew that EVERY single doubt, fear, tear, meltdown, sleepless night, nervous stomach had been worth getting to this point. At last our arms were no longer empty and our hearts were beyond full.
I am off to check out the other entries at Lisa's blog. Before you do the same, check out the post before this one and enter my Random Acts of Kindness giveaway!

What a great photo...It really is a picture you could stare out endlessly..
Such peacefulness in that pic...
and I am one of those who could fall asleep anytime,anywhere...
My husband jokes with me it is b/c I do not have his Asian blood..as he is like the ENERGIZER bunny...never really needing to rest...I would like to blame it on my 5 kiddies tiring me..but he helps out and does just as much..
So NO EXCUSES..lol..
Oh my goodness, Lisa. I can see why you love this photo so much. This is such a special and rare father/daughter moment captured at such an amazing point in your lives - during your first days with your new daughter. This is a very precious photo. I can see why you treasure it so. It's very sweet.
Our girl is "on" almost 24/7, unless she's sleeping. I can probably count on one hand the number of times she's fallen asleep in our arms. Having photos to capture the moment is priceless.
Such a sweet, sweet photo! No wonder you love it so much.
Briana is a mover and a shaker too. I think she only falls asleep out of pure exhaustion each day.
In China though, Briana fell asleep every time we started driving. I think she liked the motion. And she still likes to fall asleep in the car at times!
what a beautiful and serene moment you were able to catch. I love how his arm is wrapped around her protecting her, and she is at peace in his arms. beautiful...
What a beautiful, beautiful photo!!
(We have a "moderate" sleeper as well... which has been a big adjustment for ME!)
What a beautiful picture - and a memory. There are those moments during this crazy adventure that are frozen in time for us.
I can see why this one is for you.
Such a beautiful story with this image. She'll be a classroom teacher's dream (I hate lecturing to sleepers :)). I'm all smiles having shared the experience. Thank you for such a sweet image of Daddy and daughter.
Oh my goodness! What a sweet picture but I loved your words and just knowing at that moment everything was right in your world! Awesome. Thanks so much for stopping by today.
