Today I am thankful that God created me with feelings and emotions.
I LOVE the Christmas season. However, as happy as it makes me, I am reminded of so many sad things in this life, too. So, I cry a bit more during the holidays...Probably NOT shocking to those of you who know me well. :o)
The other day as I was in my car pulling into a parking space to go shopping, I heard Josh Groban's version of "I'll be Home for Christmas" for the first time. While it isn't my favorite rendition of the song (I love the Carpenter's version), what he did was very special and it absolutely reduced me to tears within moments. I was a MESS, crying the UGLY cry and if you've been around me when I cry, you know it truly is UGLY. I think Lindy was a bit concerned about me...
This song has special meaning to me because it reminds me of the first year Don and I were married. Don was deployed and we were separated for Christmas. I remember being so sad and missing him terribly. I still cry when I hear it because I think of people separated from their loved ones and dreaming of being together. It has a lot more meaning during these times of war.
I found this video set to Josh's version of the song. I hope you enjoy it and that it will touch your heart like it did mine.
What are you thankful for today???

Snif, snif. Very touching. I find it funny because during the most wonderful time of the year, I cry the most. So many touching stories out there. Reminds us daily and always thankful. Thanks for sharing. :)
Need to go re-apply mascara...
Wierd, I just go an error message when I left my first message.... I was saying that I just got the "Noel" cd, and I love it!!! One of the things I am so thankful for is your HUGE heart! Blessings from chilly MSP today! I miss you!
Hugs,
Diana
The tears are flowing! Thank you for sharing. This time of year is special for our family as my parent's were married a few days after Christmas. My Dad was serving in the military and got a leave so my parents met in Hawaii and married. Thanks again for sharing!

Today I am thankful for the good people in my life. I am thankful for friends like you. I am thankful that even though I can't talk to my mom, I can meet someone as sweet as you, and just ramble away on the phone.
You have such an incredible heart. Today, I am thankful for you. Thankful that our paths crossed in this big crazy world.
I really think you should go visit that family member in Camarillo. I'll be your tour guide :)
Love,
Danielle
Lisa, thanks for the reminder of so many that are away from their families during this special time of the year. That must have been a very hard first Christmas for you.
Now I'm "ugly" crying and my children are staring at me.
Thank you for sharing.
Love the Christmas makeover! I need to do mine.

Oh ugly cry - definitely ugly cry - so touching and it makes my heart weep when loved ones are apart from one another. Thanks for reminding me how blessed I am to have my husband home with us! So glad Don is there with you now!
Love you, friend!
