God sent His son,
They called Him Jesus;
He came to love,
Heal and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon;
An empty grave is there to prove my savior lives.
How sweet to hold
A newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still
The calm assurance
This child can face uncertain days
Because He lives
And then one day
I'll cross the river;
I'll fight life's final war with pain
An then as death gives way to vict'ry,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He reigns.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives.

Happy (belated ) Easter!
It took me a while to figure out that that is a church hymn...one of my favorites.
I hope that you had a wonderful Easter!

Lisa,
I read your blog often, but am not good about leaving comments:) I love reading your thankful Thursdays- I'm always very encouraged when I'm done. Thank you!
I miss everyone on Monday nights, but glad I can keep up with everyone some what!
Thank you for reminding me of this song. I grew up in a little old country church, all we sang was hymns (not very well either I might add:) but this was always one of my favorites... especially the line- "because He lives, I can face tomorrow..." Every night parenting, I'm am often reminded that He gives us wisdom and strength to be mom's, what a blessed "job" to be called to!!!
Thank you!
Blessings (& a hug),
Gayly
Easter makes me want to sing too!
my faves: "He Lives" and "Christ the Lord is Risen Today".
