Today I am resorting to a little asparagus, known as Junior, for my Thankful Thursday post. Lately, Lindy and I have been listening to a lot of Junior from Veggie Tales as we drive around town. She knows almost all the songs by heart and really belts them out. I love it! Sometimes it makes me laugh. Sometimes it makes me cry. Anyway, this simple little song she's been singing has stuck with me and I thought I'd share it with you:
I thank God for this day,
For the sun in the sky,
For my mom and my dad,
For my piece of apple pie! (My words would be CHOCOLATE)
For our home on the ground,
For His love that's all around,
That's why I say thanks every day!
Because a thankful heart is a happy heart!
I'm glad for what I have,
That's an easy way to start!
For the love that He shares,
'Cause He listens to my prayers,
That's why I say thanks every day!
It is really easy to get caught up in what we don't have, what we want, and lose sight of our blessings. I fall victim to this CONSTANTLY and need to work harder on correcting this matter in my life. Reflecting on the words of this simple song is just a starting point...
What are you thankful for today?

We love the Veggie Tales too~ And that is a wonderful song. When I was young I used to think that following God's will would mean that I would have a boring life. I was very wrong. I am grateful for the life that God has blessed me with and it is anything but boring. I am thankful for all of the love and adventure God has given to me and for my beautiful family.
Love it! Now I need to find that CD!!!!
Thankful for so much this week! Especially the memories of sharing Ruby Mei with you at this time last year!
Love ya,
Di
I'm thankful for plane tickets to San Antonio next month!!!
Love,
Melissa
P.S. I just saw your comment on the Apronista... but let me warn you, I am going to win the apron. Hehe
I love Veggie Tales! So funny! Karleigh Mei will be watching and singing these too. :o)
Love how simple that song is. And so filled with Truth. How sweet it must be to hear Lindy singing along!
Blessings!

Hi, my name is Heather and I am a veggieholic...
and shamelessly, I have made my little ladybugs veggieholics too. We have every color of the rainbow veggie cd in our family truckster.
There, I have said it:)
Junior is truly wise beyond his little asparagus years, don't you think? He speaks truth with such grace and innocence, we should all learn from him!
Love to you, sweet girl!
Heather
This week, I am thankful for the unexpected miracles that happen when we least expect them. I am thankful that my husband has had a safe and successful business trip AND that he will be coming home tomorrow. I am thankful for the wonderful "girl time" I have had with my daughter this week. I am thankful for friends near and far. I am thankful for the struggles and trials that have given me wisdom ad understanding. I am thankful that I am "awake". I am thankful I am right where I am.
And I am thankful to have found a dear cyber friend who admits to tearing up while her girl belts it out with a bunch of vegetables. YOu truly are my kind of gal Lisa!
Happy week to you!!
we love veggis too! and Hermie the caterpillar. I love the Cheeseburger song from veggi's! and the SUV song, they all make me smile. The kids love them.
That's really sweet - I think we all need to stop and reflect on that occasionally!
Thanks for stopping by and entering the beach towel giveaway!!
Love that song! I think I saw Veggie Tales at KFC the other day, in their happy meal I think? Yeah, I have resorted to the Colonel for dinner!
I always love your posts, you thankfulness shines through! I don't think they get much sweeter than you!
We love that song too! Now I'll think of Lindy singing that whenever we hear it. :)
Lindy knows a good song when she hears one. Love those lyrics. I'm sure it warms your heart to hear her sing those words.
I can't believe I missed you again today, and then you missed my call.
Hopefully we can catch up Monday or Tuesday before I start working.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Danielle
What a precious song! That's one we'll definitely have to get.
I'm thankful for my son, Jacob, who has taught me this week to have the faith of a child. Twice this week he's blown me away with his faith, and I thank God for reminding me to be more like him!
OK, I AM GRATEFUL FOR THE BEST CUP OF COFFEE I HAVE HAD IN AGES!!
Your box came yesterday and I am drinking your coffee this morning while I'm on the Sat. Morning Chat Group and it is SO good. My husband loves it too. The only problem is that it's from Texas and we're in Michigan.
Thank you so much for everything you sent. You didn't need to send that gift card...but I really am excited about it. I will let you know what I get with it.
And the outfits for Starfish are just darling.: )
I LOVE that song... I am singing it in my head now with Junior's adorably high-pitched voice!
Blessings abound, we just have to be on the look-out for them :)
